1.Endpoint Protection: SCCM 2012 includes System Center Endpoint Protection 2012 as a role within SCCM. This can be deployed and managed using the SCCM 2012 console creating a management single pane of glass.
2.Security - Role Based Administration: The new SCCM 2012 console is controlled by Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), which will hide user interface elements if the user doesn’t have sufficient access. Administrative tasks are also grouped in Security roles and they’re combined with security scopes to control exactly which users can do what, where and when within the console.
3.Application Model: SCCM 2012 takes a new user-centric approach to application deployment that allows administrators to create a single application that can be deployed to all of a user’s devices. By evaluating the device the user is currently using it can be determined whether local installation (MSI), App-V, or a Citrix XenApp application is best for the user on that device.
4.Common look and feel across System Center 2012 products: All products within the System Centre 2012 family have adopted the same look and feel User Interface (UI)
5.Infrastructure Changes:
a) Flatter structure requiring fewer site system servers.
b) SCCM 2012 is x64 only.
c) With SCCM 2012
there is now only a single Distribution Point (DP) type which can be
installed on either a workstation or server, thus eliminating the need
for the legacy branch Distribution Point.
d) Distribution Point Groups allow the grouping of many DP's
together to form a single unit which can be used to target the
deployment of software, updates and Operating systems to.
e) The PXE Role is now integrated into the Distribution Point and
client throttling can now be completed via site based client settings
which can help flatten the site hierarchy and remove the need for
additional primary and secondary sites.
6.Application Store: SCCM 2012 allows users to securely self-provision applications from anywhere with an easy-to-use self-service web catalog store.7.Software Updates: New features in the software updates deployment process include automatic approval and deployment for software updates, automatic clean-up / removal of expired updates and deployment of superseded updates.
8.Client Health: Client status and client activity information is now integrated into the SCCM 2012 console and not a separate add on. Typical client issues such as WMI corruption are now detected and remediated automatically.
9.Centrally Managed Client Settings: All client related configuration is managed in a central place within the console and multiple configurations can be deployed to a single device or collection.
10.Compliance Settings: SCCM 2012 allows the administrator to create a baseline for the desired state, and then either auto remediate or alert within the console all user devices that do not comply with that baseline.
